I was preparing for an upcoming event when I realized that my nails were in dire need of attention. Unfortunately, my regular nail technician was out of town, so I decided to try a different salon.
Stepping into the beautifully furnished Asian-owned salon, I took a seat. Shortly after, the nail technician started working on my nails, and a lovely lady was seated beside me, with her own nail technician tending to her nails.
As we struck up a conversation, she complimented my earrings, and it wasn't long before our discussion turned to matters of faith. It turned out that my newfound friend was also a Christian, so I began sharing stories of the incredible miracles I had witnessed in prisons and church services.
As the conversation progressed and I spoke of physical healings, my kind sister in faith asked if I would pray for her. She had come to town for a doctor's appointment, and I gladly agreed to pray for her.
As we continued to talk about our awe-inspiring God, our nail technicians worked diligently on our nails, quietly observing our conversation. When my friend's nails were finished, she kindly asked if she could wait for me to finish so that I could pray for her.
I agreed, and she proceeded to the reception area, when her nail technician fetched a chair and placed it next to mine encouraging us to continue talking. We resumed our conversation, eagerly discussing our faith.
Once my nails were finally done, we walked outside and sat in her car, allowing me to pray for her. We exchanged contact information, promising to stay in touch, and went our separate ways.
A couple of weeks later, I received a text message from my new friend. She requested that we meet at the nail salon again, this time to pray for her husband, who had received an unfavorable diagnosis and required a pacemaker.
I happily agreed to meet her there, and we both scheduled new nail appointments. When I arrived in the salon's parking lot, I found my friend and her husband waiting for me. Once again, we sought solace inside her car, where I offered prayers for her husband's healing and ministry. In return, they both prayed for me and my ministry. It was a precious moment of newfound friends touching heaven!
Curious about my sister's progress since our last prayer, I inquired about her well-being. With joy in her eyes, she declared that God had indeed healed her. My heart overflowed with happiness for her!
We then entered the nail salon for our appointments, and soon after, the music stopped playing. I didn't think much of it until it resumed, filling the salon with Christian music. To my surprise, the sweet nail technician who had been quietly listening to our previous conversations emerged from the back, wearing a gentle smile.
Sometimes, we fail to realize the impact of our words, testimonies, and praise reports on those silently listening around us. I believe that day our discussions left an impression on these precious nail technicians. They remembered us when we returned.
The following day, my dear friend messaged me with incredible news—her husband had received an outstanding report from the doctor, eliminating the need for a pacemaker. "Answered Prayers!" she exclaimed.
Indeed, God guides our steps. I am immensely grateful that He orchestrated my encounter with two remarkable individuals who needed physical healing. Equally as important, I am thankful that we were able to leave a lasting impression on the nail technicians in front of us.
I eagerly anticipate my future appointments, as they provide an opportunity to share the message of Jesus on a more personal level with these technicians. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of divine “nail” appointments!
