Because I Love You!
I couldn’t think of a more appropriate introduction for the words I will be sharing with you today. I want you to hear the urgency in what I am about to share. The Holy Spirit put a compulsion in my heart to share this with you because most of all Jesus loves you.
First I want to ask you, How are you with God? What is the condition of your soul? There’s a message that has become less popular today, in our sermons, in our witnessing, in our own minds. I wonder how often we even consider this fact? The fact is, Hell is a real place.
I have had individuals tell me that they will be glad when they die so they can just go to sleep forever. That must help them get through their days almost guilt free. But, sadly for them, it doesn’t work that way. I don’t care how many people deny the reality of Hell, or claim it doesn’t exist, the truth is it does.
Jesus spoke of death and the judgment to come as well. In fact there are 234 references to death, hell, and judgment in 260 chapters of the New Testament alone!
Jesus warns about it 3 times Himself in Mark 9:43-48 CSB
“And if your hand causes you to fall away, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than to have two hands and go to hell, the unquenchable fire. 45 And if your foot causes you to fall away, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. 47 And if your eye causes you to fall away, gouge it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.”
Jesus also describes it as a furnace of fire where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13:47-50 CSB
47 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a large net thrown into the sea. It collected every kind of fish, 48 and when it was full, they dragged it ashore, sat down, and gathered the good fish into containers, but threw out the worthless ones. 49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will go out, separate the evil people from the righteous, 50 and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Revelation 21:27 (CSB) reveals who will enter Heaven:
27 Nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those written in the Lamb’s book of life.
And Revelation 20:15 (CSB) reveals the destination of the unbeliever:
15 And anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
I know it’s not a popular message, but it is Truth. We are living in the last of the last days, and people must be warned of what awaits them—for all eternity—if they have not placed their trust in Jesus, and surrendered to Him. No amount of denying hell’s existence, or disbelief in God and the afterlife will cause it not to be so.
It’s hard to tell people we love that hell exists and that they are headed there if they do not surrender their lives to Jesus. They think we are being rude, or speaking words of hate, but when you love someone, you must warn them of what is to come.
As we look around us, we see Bible prophecy being fulfilled faster and faster by the day. If unbelievers would only look into all the prophecy that has already been fulfilled to the letter, they would have to realize that the Bible is more than a book of wild stories. It is the living Word of God, and He has given us the opportunity to live life to the full here on earth, but most importantly throughout all eternity as well.
So, why don’t we hear more messages about Heaven and Hell? In an hour where we need to be encouraged to keep going, and keep fighting the good fight, we need to be reminded and inspired by the fact that this is not our home and Heaven awaits the believer.
But, our hearts should be breaking for those who will spend eternity in Hell because we have not shared the whole truth of the Word of God with them. And this must compel us to go and share the Gospel.
Jesus could come back at any moment. There is no more prophecy that needs to be fulfilled before His return. It has all happened just as the Bible said it would.
But, even if He doesn’t come back for 50 more years, we have all been appointed a time to die, and we do not know when that day or hour may be. Any of us could slip off into eternity at any moment. There will be no acceptable excuses for rejecting God’s Son when we stand before the throne. Our eternal lives will hang in the balance between Heaven and Hell.
Where will you choose to spend eternity? No one can make that decision but you. I love you, and that is why I warn people. I don’t do it to make them mad at me, or to try to guilt them into following my personal beliefs. I genuinely care about where they will spend eternity.
If we truly love the lost like Jesus does, we will speak the truth in love—the whole truth.
If you have never given your life to Christ, I would encourage you to ask Him to forgive you of your sins, repent (turn completely away from your sins) ask Him to be your Savior, and follow Him by reading the Bible, and praying daily.

Feel free to email me, if you would like me to pray with you. God bless you all.
