As a Christian you will never step into your God-given destiny until you have done these four things:
1. Allow God to humble you.
2. Allow God to refine you.
3. Allow God to redefine you.
4. Dream God-sized dreams.
Each of these are extremely important, but I want to look at the last one for just a minute. How many of you have ever tried to loosen a rusty bolt? It’s extremely hard to turn isn’t it? We often crank down on it with all our might to no avail.
Sometimes I think we feel like getting answers to our prayers is like trying to turn a rusty bolt. Maybe it will turn, but most likely it won’t. Or maybe we can move it a tiny bit, but not enough to break it free.
This often relects in the way we pray. We feel like we can pray small prayers and maybe get God to answer if we pray hard enough. We might be able to get Him to budge a little if we are persistent enough. But, He’s not likely to answer in a big way!
Personally, I think God is offended by our little prayers. (Not to say that He isn’t interested in all the small things we take to Him). But we should expect BIG things when we go to God in prayer.
You see we often have the wrong perspective. We think our problems are so huge, God just won’t answer. But we serve a HUGE GOD. Our biggest requests are tiny to God.
Our small prayers are like taking a tiny wrench to loosen a rusty bolt. But when we take our huge requests to God with the mighty leverage of faith and expectancy, and the oil of the Holy Spirit, He steps in!
That rusty bolt pops free and we are released to step into the destiny HE has prepared for us! Show God you believe in HIS abilities by praying big, specific prayers. Then watch and be amazed! He’s expecting YOU to expect MORE of HIM.
Dream big God-sized dreams, and pray BIG God-sized prayers. Don’t be limited by what YOU think is possible.
“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”
