Do you see the picture above? THIS BLIND MAN WAS HEALED AND HE CAN NOW SEE!
I was invited to speak for a women's brunch and Sunday morning service at First Assembly of God in Tullahoma, TN a couple months ago. The women's conference on Saturday was wonderful, but I was totally unprepared for what God was about to do on Sunday!
I preached a simple message about being ready for Jesus to return, and how we should be hungry for so much more from Him. I shared the miracles we have been seeing in jails and prisons, and encouraged the people to believe for miracles in their lives as well.
I gave an invitation to come to the altar, and before I knew it, the altars were full. I moved from one person to another anointing them with oil and praying for their needs. Many people reported receiving healing, physical and emotional, but the one I'll never forget was when this dear brother (pictured above) received his sight and rushed downstairs to Children's Church to look into the faces of his children!
He was so excited. I was still praying for people when he came back upstairs and tapped me on the shoulder, and hugged me. What an awesome God we serve! We should expect miracles daily. He has promised us that we would do greater things than He did because He was returning to The Father. (John 14:12) I can tell you for certain, my faith was increased that Sunday!
What's Happening in the Prison Ministry?
Believe it or not, these miracles actually started in the jails and prisons. Let me share a short story that might encourage you a bit. Have you ever received a promise from God that seemed like it would never come to fruition? I have. Thirteen years ago an evangelist came to my church and prophesied over me. He said I would one day have a powerful healing ministry.
I wasn't even in ministry at that time, and I honestly believed God would never want to use me for any type of ministry. But I was wrong. When I finally accepted His call into ministry, I became excited about the promise He had made me. I couldn't wait to see all the miracles begin to take place.
And I waited, and waited, and waited...
So many times I found myself frustrated and discouraged. Many times I doubted that God had even made that promise to me. Maybe the visiting evangelist misheard God?
Nevertheless, I still felt the undeniable urge to press on and pray for people to receive healing. Sometimes I would see a healing, but it seemed to be rare and some of the people I prayed for didn't receive healing at all.
About a month ago, a friend asked if she could join me in going to the jail where I minister to ladies. I told her that would be great. When that Tuesday night rolled around, I happened to be very discouraged. I had a lot on my mind, and I was upset about some things that had happened in the jail recently between some of the ladies.
So, when my friend Margaret casually asked me on the way to jail if I had the gift of healing. I replied, "No, I do not!" What a terrible mood I was in! I was doubting myself, doubting God's promises, and tired of trying to convince myself differently. I felt as if my faith was totally depleted. Although we were still seeing ladies saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit every week--I wasn't satisfied. I longed for even more. I wanted to see everything God had promised me.
And I will never forget what God did that night in spite of my negative attitude and unbelief! FIVE ladies were healed in the jail service. One lady was deaf in her left ear. She had been deaf in that ear since she was seventeen. The doctors had told her she would never hear out of that ear again.
But that night, God opened her deaf ear! Another lady had a disorder that kept her from holding her eyes open. God opened her eyes. Other ladies received healing for various things; rheumatoid arthritis, chronic migraines, knee pain and more.
I almost cried myself to sleep that night, and I apologized over and over to God for my doubts.
The following Sunday, I ministered in the Whiteville Men's Prison. God showed up in power there also. There was an African American man who had two tumors on the back of his head--one on each side. He asked me to pray for them. I placed my hands over each of them and began to pray. I immediately felt them disappear right out from under my hands! I don't know who was more amazed, him or me?
I was overjoyed. I had never experienced an abnormality just dissolve beneath my hands. Only GOD could do such a thing! Others were healed as well as God proved His mighty healing power and His love to those men.
That night I received a text message from a mother of one of the men in that same prison. She said her son had called and told her about the miracle they witnessed in the prison! She told me that was the best Mother's Day gift she ever received...her son now believes!
The following Tuesday night, three more ladies received physical healing in the jail, and that brought us up to last Sunday where we all witnessed this blind man fold up his cane, remove his glasses and walk out of the church building praising God in Tullahoma, TN.
Then I returned to Riverbend Maximum Security Prison. Jesus did so much, I don’t know where to start! Two new men were saved in the prison service! We had such a wonderful inmate-led worship service. These men are so talented and anointed.
After the worship service, I asked if anyone had a testimony. Two men quickly raised their hands. The first one stood up and said, “Mrs. Donna, you prayed for me in the service last month. I couldn’t turn my head to the left. I’ve been dealing with this for a few years now. I go to a neurologist every month and he gives me a shot in the neck. It never helps. But you prayed for me and told me God was going to heal me over the next few weeks. Immediately I heard something that sounded like Velcro being ripped apart, and my neck felt better.” Then he said, “The first week I wasn’t too sure anything was happening, but I kept getting that Velcro sensation off and on. The second week I noticed I could turn my head to the left more. I still wasn’t sure I believed, but Mrs. Donna, after that third week I knew my healing was complete!”
He then demonstrated how he could turn his head from side to side and up and down. He said, “But it gets even better because I went back to the neurologist yesterday. He wanted to give me another shot but I refused it and told him those shots had never helped me at all. But,” he told the doctor, “last month Jesus healed me in church, and I don’t need anymore shots!”
We all rejoiced and gave thanks to Jesus! Then the second man stood and said, “Last service you prayed for my right eye. I didn’t tell you that the optometrist had already told me that I had macular degeneration and my eye would never get better but would only continue to get worse.” He said, “You prayed for me and, when you took your hand off my eye, I could see better out of that eye than the other one—crystal clear!” He told me, “I didn’t say anything then because I guess I was in shock. I just went back to my pew.”
Then with the excitement of the Holy Spirit all over him, he said, “Mrs. Donna, I went back to the optometrist this week and told them my eye was better but they didn’t believe me. They shined all those lights and things in my eye, and said, ‘hmmmm, we must have been wrong. You don’t have macular degeneration at all!’” Then he said, “'I told them I didn’t have macular degeneration because Jesus healed me a month ago in church!' They couldn’t deny it because they had my charts!”
Now, my friend if that doesn’t cause you to shout, I don’t know what will! God is not only revealing Himself to these men, but to their doctors as well! What an AMAZING, AWESOME, ALL POWERFUL GOD! Praise You Jesus! Our God is still on the throne! Keep pressing forward to the promises of God in your life. Even when there is no evidence. After all, we walk by faith, not by sight!
We are continuing to see physical healings in every service.
Our church services at Whiteville Prison have tripled in size since I first began going. It's because these men are having encounters with GOD, and they want more! Are you encountering the Miracle Working God?
